Grey connection to blood line of Edward IV and Richard III of England
Today, 4 February 2013, the University of Leicester has announced that the skeleton discovered beneath the Greyfriars car park in Leicester, England last September has been proved through DNA testing with a direct descendant of Richard III's sister Ann of York to be the remains of Richard III the last Plantagenet king. He was the brother of Edward IV.
Their mother, Cecily Neville was the daughter of Earl Ralph Neville and his second wife Joan Beaufort, daughter of John of Gaunt who was the third son of Edward III.
Earl Ralph Neville, with his first wife Countess Margaret of Stafford, had a daughter Lady Alice de Neville. The latter married Sir Thomas Grey of Heton ( who was beheaded in 1415 for being part of the Southampton plot to kill Henry V) who began the line of Greys which joined in marriage with the Greys of Shoreston, through Katherine Lambton (see the Greys of Shoreston Pedigree.)
Therefore, by my research, it seems that the blood line of Richard III and Edward IV is the same blood line of Eliza Mary Selby Donaldson via her mother Mary Dorothy Grey of Shoreston and her ancestor Sir Ralph Neville!
