Northumberland Biographies
Here is a three volume set of biographies that contain considerable information about the movers and shakers in the north. The three volumes are organized alphabetically.
Volume 1: Acton to Cunningham
LINK: Welford, Richard (1895) Men of Mark ‘Twixt Tyne and Tweed v. 1, Walter Scott, Ltd., Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
Volume 2: Dacre to Joicey
LINK: Welford, Richard (1895) Men of Mark ‘Twixt Tyne and Tweed v. 2, Walter Scott, Ltd., Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
Volume 3: Lambe to Yelloly
LINK: Welford, Richard (1895) Men of Mark ‘Twixt Tyne and Tweed v. 3, Walter Scott, Ltd., Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.
No Gregsons appear in this set but other important ancestors (e.g. Delaval, Grey,...) are described.
You have the opportunity to read these in several formats. I tend to prefer the read-on-line version. However, you can actually download versions for an iPad (Epub) or a Kindle as well as pdf formats.
