Lady Susanna Elizabeth Delaval, wife of Lord John Hussey Delaval was born Susanna Elizabeth Knight.  Susanna was the eldest daughter of Thomas Knight and Susan Tomson, and sister of William Henry Knight (father of Rev. Thomas Knight). Lady Delaval of Ford Castle had the authority, and exercised the prerogative of appointing her nephew Thomas Knight to the living of St. Michaels and All Angels, Ford, Northumberland.
