Delaval
John Hussey Delaval was the son of Francis Blake Delaval (1692–1752), who inherited estates at Ford Castle, Northumberland from his mother Mary, née Blake, and at Seaton Delaval, Northumberland from his uncle Admiral George Delaval (1660–1723). Delaval served as Member of Parliament for Berwick on Tweed 1754–1761, 1765–1774 and 1780–1786. He was created a Baronet, of Seaton Delaval in the County of Northumberland, in the Baronetage of Great Britain in 1761, and in 1783 he was raised to the Peerage of Ireland as Baron Delaval, of Redford in the County of Wicklow.[3] In 1786 he was further honoured when he was made Lord Delaval, Baron of Delaval, in the County of Cumberland, in the Peerage of Great Britain. John Baron Delaval married Susannah Robinson by whom he had four daughters and one son. After Susannah's death in 1783 John married Susanna Elizabeth Knight, aunt of the Rev. Thomas Knight and great aunt of Henry Knight Gregson, progenitor of the Knight Gregson family.

Book Resources
There are a number of on-line resources for out-of-copyright books. Important sites include archive.org, openlibrary.org, books.google.com, etc. You can go to these sites and do a search, but some sites like archive.org do not have "content searches". Searching on author or title is easy, when you know what you are looking for. I would like to collect references which our Knight Gregson community would find useful. *** HINT: IF YOU SEARCH ON ARCHIVE.ORG AND YOU GET NO RESULTS, ALWAYS GO TO THE BOOK INDEX. DIGITAL SCANNING IS NOTORIOUSLY INACCURATE AND MAY NOT FIND WHAT YOU HAVE SEARCHED ON EVEN THOUGH IT IS ACTUALLY IN THE BOOK.*** ********* NOTE: MEMBERS CANNOT POST DIRECTLY TO THIS FORUM. PLEASE SEND INFO TO drfalken@comcast.net *********

Member Recommended Resources
The first two entries under this category can only be modified by the moderator. If you have a suggestion for a resource to add, this part of the forum is unlocked for members to add their own suggestions. I will then act as librarian and help to keep our book and website lists organized. This may be an impossible task, but I'll try.

Lowlynn House
Although spelled in many ways, Lowlynn House was the residence of the Gregsons and Knight Gregsons in our branch of the family. This forum is dedicated to what we know about Lowlynn. (alternative spellings: Low Lynn, Lowlinn and Low linn).

Mystery of the coffin lid table at Lowlynn
There is a story in our family about a coffee table made from the coffin lid of a recently [ mid to late 1700’s ] re-interred body of General Tom Forster of the 1715 Jacobite fame. Dave Allen states: "It was apparently painted green and to quote my grandfather – it was at Lowlyn for many years”!
